Why Rockin' Green Works for Us!

At "Casa De GreenPath" we actually love using Rockin' Green.  We use it for our cloth diapers as well as all of our clothes.  It wasn't always that way though.  When we started cloth diapering, we used Tide.  Regular ol' Tide Powder.  I loved it.  We never had any issues whatsoever with our cloth diapers, no stains, ammonia smells or anything else.  It was awesome-that is, until they changed the formulation to include those wonderful little blue "Actilift Crystals".  To be honest, I did not even notice the change on the packaging, but within a week of using the new Tide on my diapers I had the dreaded barnyard smell.  I didn't figure it out right away, but I finally caught on once I saw the new packaging.  I decided to switch detergent to get rid of the stink, so I did a Funk Rock soak, and started using Rockin' Green.  It worked.  My diapers were finally clean again, and I have never gone back.  I use a scoop of the Funk Rock to keep the ammonia in check with every load during the cold pre-wash and do a full soak every month or so to keep things extra tidy.  This is a much greener option for my family and I especially my little one who has pretty severe eczema.  This detergent is much gentler on his clothes and diapers, and I'm ok with that.
Let's review our basic washing routine shall we?
  1. Prewash cloth diapers in cold water (use a scoop of Funk Rock to keep ammonia at bay)
  2. Hot wash with three scoops of Rockin Green Laundry Detergent (we use Classic Rock because we have regular city water, use a Water Quality Test Strip)
  3. Extra cold rinse
  4. Dry diapers on low or hang to dry
I found this little infographic which I think pretty much sums it up! LOVE!
And here is a handy little video about how to use the Rockin' Green Laundry Detergent with a Funk Rock Ammonia Bouncer Soak
